The Food Corporation of India was setup under the Food Corporation's Act 1964 in order to fulfill the objectives of the Food Policy: Effective price support operations for safeguarding the interests of the farmers, distribution of foodgrains throughout the country for public distribution system, and maintaining a satisfactory level of operational and buffer stocks of foodgrains to ensure national food security.
Bhartiya Khadya Nigam Shramik Sangathan (FCISS) is the dedicated labor union representing thousands of hard-working depot, godown, and handling workers across all states of India. FCISS works tirelessly to ensure safety, fair wages, medical welfare, depot modernization, and transparent member administration.
